I'm Mieko Kobayashi and I'm 30 years old.
I was born in Tokyo, Japan and I spend most of my time here.

I have a Japanese father and mother and a younger sister. I studied at Christian schools from Junior high school until University.
After high school I majored in Japanese literature at Aoyama Graduate University in Tokyo.
When I was in 3rd year at University, I started to work for a TV program which has a 22 year history and is aired on a main TV station.
After graduating University, I kept working for that program and learnt how to cooperate with others to make a good and high audience ratings program.
My position involved giving new ideas for the program as well as marketing, researching, giving interviews.
Now I work for Hewlett-Packard Japan as a receptionist, which is a temporary job.

Last year, I got married to a Japanese man.
We knew each other for more than 10 years.
As for children, I have no children. But I think I’ll have some next January which is just after the island caretaker mission,so at the moment I am living in central Tokyo with my husband.
I will ask him to join me on this wonderful journey.
I’ll tell you a little about my husband.
His name is Motoki Kobayashi. He was born at the foot of the Mt.Fuji. He is the same age as me and his job is concerned with protecting the environment and promoting tourism for his hometown.
His joining on this journey will support my soul to work as an island caretaker with lots of new challenges.
What is most important in my life is “sharing”.
As I mentioned what I learnt through the presenter job, in order to achieve goals in a team,
my workmates and I discussed the issue again and again. Sometimes had tears with disappointment, and sometimes giving way to each other.
I like this kind of tough and enjoyable communication, whereby through a step by step approach, I was able to reach the goals set out for me.
I think that sharing various emotions with others is the most beautiful thing in our lives.
Last of all, Australia is the most precious place to me. I visited Australia several times.

There is incredibly beautiful and wild nature, which Japan doesn’t have and easy-going, open hearted people!
Every time I felt exhausted from my stressful lifestyle in Tokyo, I felt I was destined for Australia.
There is a real heaven only 9 hours from Japan by airplane, and the land, the beaches and the people give me the strength to survive.
I lived in Tokyo for my entire life. There are so many people who live in a mega city like Tokyo and forget to enjoy themselves.
They need to relax. That’s why, as a person who lives in a big city, I would like to say,"Don’t die before you see the real heaven in reality!!!". |
